The connectors are JST PH 2.0mm, which is the bigger battery connector found on most hobbyist batteries. It's too big for the connectors on the T114 and most MeshCore hardware

Most important feature for MeshCore? Overdischarge protection!  This chip will disconnect the battery from the load when the voltage drops below 2.9V. Current can still flow to the battery to charge it, and when the voltage crosses 3.0V the battery is reconnected.

This is useful to avoid draining unprotected lithium batteries. It's also helpful in solar powered repeaters to avoid brownout loops where the battery is low, sun comes up and starts charging, voltage rises for the microcontroller to boot which drains the battery enough that it dies again...
